Lotte World Amusement Park

Being well-read and fairly well-traveled, I'm always amazed to discover major things that are totally new to me.  That's when I realize I need to read and travel more!  Ha.  One of these surprises is Lotte World Amusement Park in Seoul, Korea.

Lotte World is a gigantic mall and major recreation complex that houses a three-story indoor amusement park, a folk museum, a sports center, a skating rink, a water slide park, an outdoor amusement park, a shopping center and a luxury hotel.  It attracts about 8 million visitors annually and is considered one of the world-class theme parks in Asia.

The indoor and outdoor parts of the park are linked by a monorail.  The indoor amusement park area covers 82,650 square meters and contains acres of streets filled with hundreds of activities, entertainments, shops, restaurants and ongoing parades.

Lotte World opened in 1989.  It amazes me that I had never heard of this place prior to Daniel and his family visiting there on a recent trip to Korea!

Their travels are educating me a great deal about Asia and its peoples.

Fred is learning to drive
It looks like there were plenty of things for our preschooler Fred and his toddler sister Livia to do!

The main entrance looks a bit like a subway station.

This place is huge
The indoor amusement park is divided into four main floors, each with various attractions and rides.

Holly and baby Livia tackle the bumper cars
These bumper cars are for small children only and adults are only permitted if accompanying a child.  Children are not permitted on the Crazy Bumper Cars ride which is only for adults.

I'm glad they've made this ride just for the the little ones - they seem to be enjoying themselves.

This is a fairy tale world, full of fairy tale princesses.

According to an article I found on the internet, the merry-go-round located near the middle of Lotte World contains 64 white horses

Smiles all around for the fun rides
.  This is also the merry-go-round made famous through the South Korea drama, "Stairway to Heaven".

Lotte World has a monorail, which looks bigger than Disneyland's
According to his daddy, Fred loved the monorail that runs on the third floor of the park.  The "Iron Bull" fascinated our toddler.  He had to ride it 5 times or so...
Fred liked the Monorail

It looks like Lotte World was a lotta fun for our little family!
