Iguala Service Project

Those crazy missionaries!
Down in Iguala, Mexico, it is currently warm and very un-December like (well, to us norte Americanos!).  Every year at this time, the missionaries do a service project.  If you remember last year I posted pictures of them cleaning a bunch of turtles.  Seriously!  At least they didn't have to do that again.

This year, they cleaned out the Zocalo, the city center of Iguala.

Our Elder Nils (the blond in the middle of this gaggle of Elders above) writes,
"It was pretty cool.  We had a bunch of people watching us, and it turned out pretty nice and clean.  Plus we planted some new plants and got the place set up for Christmas."
Then he continues:
"Then we changed into our mission outfits, with red and green ties, and Santa hats, and with microphones and stuff we sang a few hymns we've been preparing. It sounded really great, and we got a huge crowd around us.  Then the president of Iguala came up with us, and talked a little about the church... so that was cool."
I'm not sure if he really means president or mayor, but in any event, our dear Elders keep having success, which makes me happy.  Elder Nils has also seen another baptism, which is a wonderful thing!

He writes (as always!):
"So, this week has been really awesome.  I have a feeling that this next week is going to be the same."
I love my Nephew Nils and I love the missionaries.  The Restored Gospel moves ever on - like Nebuchadnezzar's dream in the Book of Daniel in the Bible (See Daniel 2:34-45) about the stone cut without hands that will eventually  fill the whole earth.

So wonderful to be a very small part of it!
