Jackie & Maura's Christmas Party

One of many food tables that were set up!
Every year, my friends Jackie and Maura host a terrific Christmas party at their large home up north of me.  These are the lovely women who rescued my cat, Jack, and his family.  I feel indebted to them for that act of kindness.

Their annual party is a lot of fun.

The Christmas tree
Their house is always completely decorated for the season.  This year was no exception!

The tree had lots of great ornaments.  You can't see it in the picture, unfortunately, but if you looked closely, there were many fun things.  My favorite, little cartoon Chip 'n Dale ornaments.

Even the ... um, retiring room gets decorated
No room of the house is left undone.  I loved the lights in the 'room of rest'.

Jackie and guest with Max the cat
Jackie even wore them around her neck.
Kitties are everywhere!
This is a house owned by animal lovers.  They currently have 13 cats and 2 dogs.  This has been by happenstance rather than by design. And honestly, they were going to stop at nine cats, then another sweet feline family came along that needed rescuing.

(People!  Spay and neuter your pets!  Seriously!)

I love this large, furry family.  There are some real characters in the bunch, and several  - well, at least half - were brave enough to join us in the main living areas of the house.

Kitty Love
Among these were these two friends (above).  I love the entwined tails.

It's a testament to the loving atmosphere in this home that all the furry creatures get along so well together.

To be accurate, there needs to be about 8 more stockings hung by the chimney with care
I loved all the stockings by the fireplace.

Watching the coats and purses in the back bedroom with Scooby-do, sorta
A couple of the cats had "cloak room" detail.  These two greeted me as I deposited my jacket and bag after I arrived.  I was also able to see my cat Jack's sister Lucky and tell her "Hi" from her brother.  She always listens to me with great interest, and then is too shy to let me pet her.

Oh yes, there were a few humans -  or twenty or thirty or more - there too.  It was great to see everyone, from near and far.

With a Happy Hanukkah for a few friends, and a Merry Christmas for the rest, it was a fun evening.  One might even say it was PURRRRRRfect.

I love this time of year.

Stay tuned for more parties to come!

Great post Marianne! Miles sat here and looked at the pictures while I read to him about the party. Since he missed most of it due to 'cloak room detail'. - Jackie
