Farewell, Debra!

Our lovely friend Debra, soon to be moving to the wilds of Oregon
My friend Debra just got married and is heading off to Oregon to live with her new hubby.  We're sorry to see her go.  She's been a wonderful asset to our Ward (congregation) in Whittier.

Friday night we had a gathering at the local Yogurtland to say a proper goodbye to Debra.  We also ate frozen yogurt.  That was good, too!

The Yogurtland employees were so sweet to us!
The Yogurtland employees were so kind to us.  They even offered to bring in the outside chairs to help accommodate our numbers.  It was nice, especially since there were a lot of us and we basically took over the whole store for a few hours.

Judy and Janette deep in discussion
Lots of Relief Society sisters showed up.  It was fun to just sit around and gab.

So we did.

We also laughed a lot.

I love this photo of Judy, Janette and Debra.  These are three beautiful ladies inside and out.
I ended up with vanilla and pistachio yogurt and topped it with a lot of healthy, delicious raspberries - and a ton of broken up Reese's peanut butter cups.  Yup.  So much for healthy eating.  But it was really good!

Awww.  To heck with the dieting.  It's Christmas.

Yes.  That's it.  Eat, drink, and be merry, I say -  for in January we, um, diet.  Hmmmm.  That  sounds familiar.  Isn't that a scripture somewhere?  Oh, never mind!

The Green Yogurtland Logo wall actually made for a nice photo op background
The Sister Missionaries showed up, too.  These young women are so wonderful.  They are kind, bright, attractive and always have big smiles and a positive outlook.  I love having them in my home.  What a joy they are to be around!

You go, girls!  So glad to know you.

Our Lady Missionaries, Sister Folsom and Sister Pendleton talking to our Relief Society President
It was just a delightful evening that lasted until 9 p.m.  The time just flew by.  We all had a great time, and got a chance to have a good chat with Debra.

I have no idea who had the idea for this little impromptu party, but it was a great one.

Our Pickering Ward Relief Society President, Laurel, with Debra.

We're going to miss you, Debra!    Heavenly Father bless you!
