The Summer Cottage

Nearly everyone in Sweden has a little summer cottage tucked away in the country somewhere for a pleasant escape from the city in the summer.

Even if you live in idyllic Eskilstuna, you apparently need some place to retire to for a little vacation and to enjoy Mother Nature in all her glory.

Kirsti's family has a little summer cottage, or Sommarstuga, for just that.  It's a lovely little place close to a lake.  With the weather warm, it made for some great swimming!

Anders just graduated from high school and is ready to take on the world.  Pay him no mind.

Morbror Stig

This is grandmother, aka Mormor, Britt's brother, Uncle Stig.  He keeps the home fires burning for the clan when they visit the "old" country..  I believe he got more than he bargained for this summer!  The American hordes just keep on a-coming!

 The summer cottage is a great romantic place for couples of all ages.

I think it looks like it's been a successful mini-invasion of Sweden so far this summer.  Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves!
