Church Picnic

The full-time missionaries and others filling their plates
Saturday we had a church picnic in the park to celebrate Pioneer Day, which was on the 24th of July!  It was a fun event, and a successful one, attended by over 80 people.

Setting up the food table
There were so many good things to eat!  And the lines for lunch weren't too long.

It was a warm day, but it was pleasant in the shade, and there was a delightful breeze that kept us cooled off.

while fathers herd children behind her
People brought so many different, and fun, things to eat!  There was everything from chicken to pizza to salads of all kinds..

Munching on many fabulous dishes
The kids all seemed to enjoy themselves a lot.

The kids had fun
Michigan Park is a beautiful place with lots of big trees, so the children had plenty of room to run around in.

Kids of all ages even played a few wild games of volleyball.

There was volleyball
 And finally, there was entertainment.
Elias entertained the crowd
It wouldn't be a proper Pioneer Day celebration without some music and a few good pioneer stories.

Brother Campbell told pioneer stories
This was a very pleasant afternoon with our Ward Family!
