Charlotte Jane

Mom Ashley and little Charly
When you are three weeks old, you don't do a whole lot.  But that's okay.  At three weeks old, you're still getting used to the world and that tiny body just keeps developing, growing and changing.

It's hard work being NEW.

If you've been following this blog for a while, you first met Charlotte Jane in the blog post of July 23rd (Royal Baby). She was born on July 19th.

She is completely adorable.

Mom and Dad live in a lovely Craftsman-style home in the North Park area of San Diego, California.  It was built around the turn of the last century and has some terrific architectural details, including stained glass windows (above), beautiful woodwork and built-in bookcases.

I found the place very charming.  It was a style that reminded me of the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and the overall effect was very cosy.

I don't think Charlotte is old enough to appreciate it, yet!

Our little Charly wasn't sure what to make of all the visitors!

But she was just fine when Daddy rocked her.  The photos are blurry because Dad and Charly were in motion!

She liked that a lot.

Here you get a glimpse of the hardwood floors and moldings that make this house so lovely.

Okay, so if you're wondering why I didn't post a blog last Friday, it was because of this jaunt to San Diego. Truth be told, I completely forgot to post anything as I was excited about my trip!

I had a great visit with Charlotte, her mom, dad, grandmother and her doting Aunt Elaine.  The weather was beautiful and we had a truly delightful drive down the Pacific Ocean coastline.

It was a great day!
