Farewell, Dear Friend!

The gang had a party at the Torres California Spa Saturday to say a proper farewell to Jill, who soon will be off to the dark side of the moon.. I mean, eastern Washington with her husband and family.  The gang all showed up for swimming, some sun and lots of good food from resident Chef Mark.

Jill is known to fandom as the author of the Relativity fanzines and lots of great stories that really should be published someday.  Our loss is Washington State's gain.

We will miss you Jill!  I certainly will miss you!

The best part of the evening was sitting around reminiscing and telling stories about crazy things we've done.  Okay, crazy things Jill has done.  Emergency rooms Jill has seen ... Ha!... interesting weekends of yesteryear. 

It was hard to go home.  I kept thinking: end of an era.  Our old Quill writer's group is truly cast to the four winds once Jill is gone.  God be with you 'til we meet again!

Thank goodness for the internet, Skype and all the other modern inventions that make distances smaller and bring good friends - wherever they may be - a whole lot closer.
