Now Playing: Man of La Mancha

William Crisp as Miguel Cervantes / Don Quixote and Veronique Merrill Warner as Aldonza / Dulcinea
Man of La Mancha is one of those powerful shows that never seems dated.  If you haven't seen it, you should see it.  If you've seen it before, isn't it about time to see it again?

The Whittier Community Theatre's production of Man of La Mancha opens this Friday, September 6th and plays until September 21st.

The tale of author Miguel De Cervantes and how he came to write his masterpiece Don Quixote de La Mancha is nearly as fascinating as the story he created.  This popular musical weaves the two tales together, taking us first into the dark jail of the Inquisition in Seville, Spain, then on the road with Don Quixote and his erstwhile companion, Sancho Panza.

The musical "Man of La Mancha" is the winner of 5 Tony Awards.  It features one of the most beautiful scores ever written for musical theatre, including such songs as the haunting "Dulcinea", and the emotionally stirring "The Impossible Dream".
