Visiting the Temple

Our Forever Family on the Taipei  LDS Temple grounds
Latter-day Saint families always flock to the temple, wherever they may be in the world.  When my nephew Daniel and his little family recently visited the island of Taiwan, they made sure they stopped in Taipei to see the LDS temple there.

The temple spire with the Angel Moroni on top
"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people." (Revelation 14:6)
Primary children like Fred sing: "I love to see the temple, I'm going there someday"

Above the entrance to every temple in the world are these words:
Holiness to the Lord
The House of the Lord

Fred and Livia on the temple grounds

The double stroller on the left is for when little legs get tired
There is also a Stake Center on the grounds where regular church services are held.
The Taipei Mission Home and housing for temple patrons
Across the street from the temple grounds
there's the mission home (left) and a non-church owned  LDS bookstore ( right)

The sign reads in part: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

There is something very special about temples and the area surrounding them.  This is true of LDS temples all over the world.  There is a sweet feeling of peace there.  Temples are sacred places where we are sealed by the Holy Priesthood as forever families.  It's no wonder that LDS families gravitate to them.  Temples are the source of our greatest blessings.

While only members in good standing may enter the temple, most temples have a visitor's center nearby, where anyone can learn a bit more about the purpose of temples, and what Latter-day Saints believe.

There are currently 140 operating temples throughout the world, 12 under construction, and 16 more in the works that have been announced.

There are a few temples in Asia now: one in Japan, one in South Korea, one in Hong Kong, the one in Taipei, Taiwan (pictured), and two in the Philippines.  Not many for such a huge population, but it's a start!

If you live close to an operating temple, consider yourself blessed indeed.
