Strömsholm Palace

Strömsholm Palace, or Castle, as it is often referred to, is a Swedish royal palace.

This baroque palace was built on the site of a old fortress in the late 1600s by King Gustav Vasa as a gift for his Queen.

Today, the interiors date from an 18th century remodel.  The palace houses a priceless collection of Swedish paintings.

Of course, the whole of Sweden is full of photo ops.  Some of these photos are from Strömsholm, some...  are not.

And, because I'm clueless myself, I'll make you guess which.

Since the 16th century, Strömsholm has been an important equestrian center.  There is a riding school nearby, and a hippodrome where equestrian competitions are held each year.

Are you ready to take a vacation in Sweden yet?

I think I am!
